Support for children from families of refugees from Eritrea – "Abu Gida" School, South Tel Aviv

The Abu Gida School is an after school education program for Eritrean children in grades 1-6, from refugee families seeking asylum that was established by teachers of Eritrean origin in order to strengthen and improve the scholastic achievements of these children who generally lag behind in regular educational frameworks.

This program provides the children with activities that will prevent them from wandering the streets without supervision, since their parents usually work long hours.

We provide the children with a nutritious meal, enabling them to study until the evening.

We believe that supporting an informal educational framework for these children increases their chances of obtaining a better education, which will provide them with opportunities for better future and may keep them away from the streets.
